Ro-ro carrier Höegh Autoliners is extending its charter-party contract with Gram Car Carriers for the Höegh Caribia, securing the vessel for three years from January 2023 for its operations in the Caribbean.
The vessel was built in 2010, has a cargo capacity of 2,000 ceu, and has been operated by Höegh Autoliners since delivery. The dedicated feeder vessel supports distribution of cargo from overseas markets to the Caribbean islands and South America.
Andreas Enger, ceo of Höegh Autoliners, said: “With the prolongation of the contract of this small and specialised vessel employed in our shortsea Caribbean network, Höegh Autoliners does not have vessels for renewal before 2025, which provides stable and predictable service offering to our customers well into the delivery of our Aurora newbuilds. Our deepsea network is fully covered by owned vessels or long-term charters with attractive purchase options, supplemented by a limited use of space charters.”
