March 6 - Eight crew members of BBC Caribbean have been released from the captivity of Nigerian pirates, Briese Schiffarts, which owns the ship, has confirmed.
BBC Caribbean was attacked by Nigerian pirates on February 5 in the Gulf of Guinea on route from Cameroon to Ghana and eight of the ship's 11 crew members were abducted.
After 26 days in captivity, all eight crew were released on March 3 and brought to a safe place, receiving immediate medical attention.
The shipping company confirms that all eight are in good health, despite the circumstances, and are now on their way home to Russia and Ukraine.
