October 25 - A new engineering company - HeavyLift@Sea - has opened its doors in Hamburg to offer design and planning services for heavy lift shipping and offshore projects.
A ten-strong team, headed by Hendrik Gröne and Lars Rolner, will take on projects from designing individual chain hoists to developing special-purpose vessels.
Hendrik Gröne, managing director of HeavyLift@Sea, says there is a great deal of engineering knowledge to be found in Germany and "that know-how needs to be bundled, maintained and supplied to customers like ship owners and builders of offshore plants".
