September 23 - Huisman has celebrated the delivery of the 100th Chinese-built crane at its production facility in Zhangzhou - a 1,500-tonne capacity heavy lift mast crane destined for Jumbo's multipurpose vessel Fairmaster.
The crane is one of two 1,500-tonne capacity cranes, which will give the heavy lift ship a tandem lift capacity of 3,000 tonnes.
The heavy lift mast crane is equipped with state-of-the-art technology focused on improved safety and operational flexibility. These cranes, which are designed especially for heavy lift vessels, are characterised by their superior load curve, small footprint and the low weight of the structure, said Huisman.
Jumbo's K-class heavy lift vessels, Jumbo Kinetic and Jumbo Fairmaster, both feature two 1,500-tonne capacity cranes onboard.
Readers may recall that Jumbo Fairmaster was delivered in June 2015 from Croatia's Brodosplit shipyard, with Jumbo Kinetic's cranes being fitted at the end of 2014 following a number of disagreements between the European shipyard and the heavy lift shipping line.
