Hacklin has taken a stake in compatriot Nordic Chartering.

Hacklin is a family-owned company established in the port of Pori, Finland in 1908. Today, its group companies in Helsinki, Hamina, Kotka, Hong Kong and Shanghai are specialised in project cargo, freight forwarding, warehousing services in Finland as well as efficient logistics solutions in bulk handling.

By joining as a shareholder in Nordic Chartering, this should build a strong foundation for future vessel investments. The companies said they are working in different logistics sectors and will continue working under their own brands, respectively.

Nordic Chartering is a privately owned Finnish shortsea operator established in 2003. Its vessels are ice-classed to secure operations all year round between the Baltic Sea and Western Europe. It said that for more than 20 years it has operated regular timber sailings from the Baltic Sea to Ireland; it also specialises in part cargo operations and together with its partners cargoes can be loaded in the Baltic Sea and en route to Western Europe and the Mediterranean.
