The Netherlands-headquartered Fusie Engineers and Q3 Heavy Lift have teamed up to design a 140 m x 40 m flat-top barge that is tailored for transporting heavy cargo for offshore wind projects in Taiwan.
Fusie Engineering is bringing its ship design and offshore engineering expertise into the collaboration, providing detailed scantling calculations, stability studies and the preparation of basic design drawings, including the midship section and deck construction plans.
For Q3 Heavy Lift, it represents a strategic move into owning and operating heavy transport barges, with the company expanding its fleet to meet the growing demand for renewable energy infrastructure.
Q3 Heavy Lift is actively engaging in discussions for financing this venture and liaising with multiple shipyards.
