A fresh round of strike action is set to affect the UK’s port of Felixstowe during September.

Members of Unite the Union based at the UK’s leading container gateway overwhelmingly rejected a 7 percent pay increase put forward by Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company, which is owned by port operator CK Hutchison.

As a result, eight days of strike action have been called from 07:00 on September 27 to 06:59 on October 5. Strikes that took place during August 2022 caused significant disruption at the gateway.

Industrial action is also scheduled to take place at the port of Liverpool from September 18 – October 3. According to Peel Ports Group, owner and operator of the port, the union rejected a pay package increase of 8.3 percent.
