Over the weekend, pirates attacked ForestWave's general cargo vessel FWN Rapide off the coast of Nigeria, taking 12 crew members hostage.
Two of the seafarers are safe and unhurt and the vessel has been moved to a safe position.
In a statement, the Netherlands-based ForestWave stressed that its main priority is to establish contact with the missing seafarers and secure their safe return.
The company's emergency response team is liaising with the local and international authorities and, with its local organisations, is in close contact with the families of the missing seafarers.
The Dutch vessel was on its way from Takoradi, Ghana to Port Harourt, Nigeria when it came under attack.
