In response to increasing demand from customers, Finnlines is boosting its maritime connections in Europe.
The company’s newest Eco-class hybrid ro-ro vessels will be used to bolster the services. Finneco I has been deployed on the Bilbao–Zeebrugge/Antwerp–Travemünde–Helsinki/Kotka–Paldiski route, with the maiden call in Antwerp taking place on June 16. Finneco II is expected to enter service in week 28 and Finneco III in week 29.
The three Eco-class vessels have a transport capacity of 5,800 lane meters. The hybrid vessels can carry high, heavy, long and wide cargoes, said Finnlines. A hoistable deck makes it possible to load units measuring up to 7 m high.
Finnlines is also launching a twice weekly service from Rosslare, Ireland, to Zeebrugge, Belgium, as HLPFI reported here.
