Finland’s ESL Shipping has acquired the bulk carrier Alppila from SEB Leasing.
The self-unloading bulk carrier is designed specifically for Baltic Sea operations, said ESL. It is equipped for Finnish winter conditions and is capable of operating in the northernmost ports of the Baltic Sea.
In addition to dry bulk services, ESL’s vessels are capable of handling project cargo shipments.
Meanwhile AtoB@C Shipping, part of ESL Shipping, has started offering port towage and related services in the port of Raahe, Finland.
Headquartered in Sweden, the ship operator and logistics company was acquired by ESL in September 2018. Serving the Scandinavian and European markets, AtoB@C Shipping has a fleet of approximately 30 vessels capable of transporting project cargoes, as well as wood pulp, steel, sawn timber, scrap and other bulk commodities.
