July 8 - The EMS-Fehn-Group has acquired two additional coasters - Fehn Companion and Fehn Caledonia - which are sister ships to its existing coasters, Catania, Norwind, Norwave and Fehn Courage.
The two ships are single deck, general cargo ships built in 2010 at the Wuxue Kaiyanxing Shipbuilding yard in China.
They are 87.91 m in length, 11.41 m in width and have a draught of 4.1 m. Their single hold is 61.6 m x 9 m x 6.16 m and ideal for over-dimensional project cargoes says the company.
They will be managed by the specialist short sea shipping company Fehn Ship Management, which was established in 2003 and is one of a number of companies within the Leer-based EMS-Fehn-Group.
