Eefting Energy will install its fuel efficiency monitoring system on Symphony Shipping’s newbuild Ecobox XL project cargo vessels that are being built by Ferus Smit Shipyards.
Both ships will be fitted with bunker meters, which will measure the fuel entering the ship.
Symphony Shipping ordered the vessels last year, as HLPFI reported here. The Ecobox XL design will be suitable for loading extra-long items, such as wind turbine blades, while maintaining its capabilities as a general cargo ship.
The ships are planned for delivery at the end of 2022/early 2023.
