Drewes Group deems Southeast Asia a crucial region given its growing role as a key hub for industrial growth, supply chain expansion, and digital transformation.

Dietmar Schwank, Austrian commercial counsellor in Vietnam, recently hosted a business lunch in Ho Chi Minh City, which shone a light on the growing trade ties between Austria and Vientam.

During 2024, Austrian exports to Vietnam rose by 25.6 percent when compared with 2004, at EUR258 million (USD279.62 million). There has been a higher demand for Austrian products, namely in pharmaceuticals and industrial investments.

Imports from Vietnam to Austria increased by 18.7 percent during the same period, sitting at EUR1.68 billion (USD1.82 billion), signifying both Vietnam’s deeper integration into global supply chains and the impact of the European Union Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), which came into effect in 2020.

This comes after Drewes Group opened an office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, earlier this year.
