deugro USA has added a second warehouse facility at Cedar Port Industrial Park in Baytown, Texas.
The new facility, which is already in operation, is called Cedar-Port Operations and Logistics Terminal (COLT) and will act as an additional facility alongside deugro’s existing facility in Baytown.
COLT, with a total space of 47 acres (19 ha), provides laydown areas and indoor space to accommodate various activities. Fully fenced, the facility can operate 24/7 and is approved to handle any hazardous materials.
It boasts an indoor warehouse space of 165,000 sq ft (15,300 sq m), an outdoor hardstand area of 40 acres (16 ha), plus 214 dock doors and 935 trailer parks.
The site faces the Houstin Ship Channel and is near to the city’s major port terminals. “In the upcoming weeks, we will enhance its operations by adding various specialised material handling equipment and resources to the facility,” said Tobias Schultz, president – North America, deugro USA.
Explaining that plans include the creation of a free trade zone at COLT, Jeff Smith, head of supply chain logistics at deugro USA, added: “Given the consistently high demand for warehouse and laydown space in and around Houston, we are confident that COLT can effectively serve both new and existing clients.”
Earlier this month, deugro made three appointments to its management in Saudi Arabia.
