DEME Offshore has been awarded a transport and installation contract for Ørsted’s Hornsea Two offshore wind farm, located approximately 89 km off the Yorkshire coast in the UK.
DEME Offshore will transport and install 165 monopile foundations for the project. The monopiles and transition pieces will be installed by the company’s DP3 offshore installation vessel Orion, which features a 5,000-tonne capacity crane.
Orion is due to enter operation at the end of the year.
DEME also secured the contract to transport and install 165 Siemens 8.4 MW wind turbines at the project site. The offshore installation vessels Sea Challenger and Sea Installer will carry out turbine installation.
