April 15 - Delta Maritime - a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) representing Greece - has opened a new office in Bucharest, Romania.
A major contract for wind energy logistics services will stay with Delta Eolica - a specialised division of Delta Maritime created specifically for wind energy installation project logistics.
Delta Maritime explained that a second consecutive year of growth has stemmed from increased demand for its project logistics services in the wind energy sector. It also saw a growth in general freight forwarding activity. Delta Maritime noted that its offices in Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Albania, Macedonia, Romania and Serbia performed strongly in 2012.
Delta Maritime plans to widen its network with the establishment of further offices in: Belgrade, Serbia; Tirana, Albania; and Sofia, Bulgaria.
