Dan-Czech Specialtransport delivered a 67-tonne ammonia condenser and two vacuum separators, from a factory in the Czech Republic to the port of Bratislava in Slovakia.
According to Dan-Czech, finding an alternative route due to a landslide, height clearance limitations, and the load-bearing capacity of a number of bridges, proved to be the biggest challenges.
The vacuum separators measured 5.55 m and 5.74 m in height. The taller unit was transported on a girder bride, while the smaller unit was moved on a drop-deck trailer. This allowed both shipments to travel along the route at approximately the same height.
Once at the port, the cargoes were shipped to Romania.
