February 10 - International logistics company, Dachser has established a new branch in Luxembourg, bringing to 17 the number of countries in Europe where it has its own facilities.
Dachser Luxembourg is based in Grevenmacher and is directly connected to the Eurohub in Überherrn, Germany. "This enables us to offer all European facilities regular connections with standardised shipment times, even if they don't run direct services to Luxembourg," says Michael Schilling, Dachser managing director for European network management and logistics systems.
The site encompasses a 2,600 sq m transshipment hall with 18 bays and 800 sq m of offices. Initially, Dachser will employ a staff of 25 in Grevenmacher, headed by Torsten Baasner.
With total annual revenues in excess of EUR3.0 billion (USD4.08 billion), Dascher also has a strong presence in the movement of heavy or over-dimensional cargoes.
