COSCO Shipping Specialized takes semi-sub delivery

COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers took delivery of its latest 65,000 dwt semi-submersible vessel in late December.

Named Xiang Tai Kou, the vessel measures 46 m wide and has a deck space measuring 192 m x 46 m. It brings COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers’ fleet up to 16 and was handed over on December 28.

Last year, COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers formed a joint venture with Guangzhou Salvage that will control its joint fleet of semi-submersible vessels. The combined fleet will range in size from 20,000-98,000 dwt and includes two of the largest semi-submersible vessels in the world.
