Cosco Shipping Lines has reclaimed control of its IT infrastructure after it’s US network fell victim to a cyber attack last week.
The cyber attack led to Cosco’s email and telephone network shutting down. The shipping line closed its US network’s connections with other regions as part of safety precautions to facilitate further investigations.
All communication channels including telephone, email and electronic data exchange have now been restored, says Cosco.
The shipping line added: “We are working at full stretch to process all the service requests received previously, and the service response is expected to be back on track within this week.”
The company’s hazardous and out-of-gauge (OOG) booking services are also operating normally. At the time of writing the Cosco Shipping Lines USA website remained offline.
