Cometto has delivered a 216-tonne payload capacity SYT 4/2 shipyard transporter to Italy’s Fincantieri.
The unit will be used at Fincantieri’s Riva Trigoso yard at Genoa, which specialises in military vessel manufacturing for the Italian navy.
The main features of Cometto SYT are electronic steering and a hydraulic lifting system. The units can be coupled together to create a larger platform with a higher payload capacity.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Muhibbah Engineering has acquired 14 MSPE self-propelled modules from Cometto.
“This equipment will be used in the logistics of a new shipyard built in the Um Alhoul Special Economic Zone in Qatar”, said Giovanni Monti, head of sales at the trailer manufacturer.
The order consists of 14 six-axle modules with a payload capacity of 40 tonnes per axle line. Two power pack units with an output of 331 kW each, plus accessories, were also delivered to Muhibbah. In combination, the units have a payload capacity of 3,360 tonnes.
