With three flights per week, the service connects Wuxi, China, to Chicago in the USA. The inaugural flight took place as it carried more than 100 tonnes of cargo from Wuxi to Chicago.

The charter is designed to cater for a range of cargo types, including industrial equipment, electronics, oversized cargo, e-commerce goods, and apparel. Through the programme, Ceva is also offering customers sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) options.

The charter solution comes following an agreement between Ceva and Wuxi Sunan Shuofang International Airport Group, with the airport providing an inland benefit by covering the Yangtze River Delta Economic Development Zone – providing Ceva with access to companies which operate in and around Shanghai.

Ceva’s US gateway – which has a 700,000 sq ft (65,032.1 sq m) air freight warehouse – is located less than 10 miles (16.1 km) from the city’s airport. Meanwhile, on the other side of the journey, Ceva’s freight management solutions across Southeast Asia extend the service’s reach to other major cities and manufacturing zones from to and from Wuxi.

The charter programme also provides Customs clearance and airport handling service, along with other tailored solutions for cross-border volumes.

Last month, Ceva opened a new office in Paris, France.
