UK-based Carisbrooke Shipping is preparing to install a prototype GT Wings AirWing aboard one of its Vectis multipurpose vessels.

The fuel-saving mechanism is manufactured in the UK by KS Composites and A2O Manufacturing. The feather configuration of the wing will reduce drag whilst its suction and blowing technology produces thrust enables up to 35 percent fuel-saving.

The vessel will be deployed on voyages between Northern Europe and Canada. A video of the system can be seen below.
