Offshore installation contractor Cadeler has signed firm contracts for the transport and installation of offshore wind turbine generators and foundations for the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm in the UK.
Being developed by ScottishPower Renewables, East Anglia TWO received a 960 MW capacity allocation from the UK government in September 2024.
The whole project is valued at GBP4 billion (USD5.2 billion), Cadeler’s contracts are valued at approximately EUR360-382 million (USD464.5-492.9 million) and entail the transportation and installation of 64 wind turbines (15 MW each) and the foundations.
The offshore works are set to begin in 2027, using Cadeler’s newbuild A-class vessels as well as an O-class vessel from its current fleet.
“With our six newbuilds on their way, Cadeler will deliver even greater flexibility and offer still improved efficiency for our clients, with solutions for even more complex projects,” said Mikkel Gleerup, ceo of Cadeler.
Last month, HLPFI reported that Cadeler had signed firm contracts for the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind energy projects in Poland.
