Cadeler has signed firm contracts for the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind energy projects in Poland, valued at EUR120-144 million (USD132.8-159.3 million).
Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 – to be located approximately 22 km and 37 km, respectively, from the port of Łeba, Poland – are both under development by Equinor and Polenergia. The projects will involve installing 100 offshore wind turbine generators in the Polish part of heh Baltic Sea, with Cadeler planning to deploy both an O-class and a P-class vessel for the projects.
The installation of the generators is due to begin in 2027 and, once operational, the two wind farms will have a combined installed capacity of 1,440 MW.
“We are excited to announce a firm contract for yet another significant milestone project in Poland. This marks our third major project in the Polish market, showcasing the strong business potential in that market, driven by increasing demand for renewable energy,” said Mikkel Gleerup, ceo of Cadeler.
Cadeler signed vessel reservation contracts for the two wind farms in May 2024.
