Germany’s Briese Chartering has christened Eco Treasure, the fourth vessel in its OTECO 9000 series of newbuild general cargo vessels.

Eco Treasure follows Briese’s third newbuild in the OTECO 9000 series fleet, Eco Trophy, which was added in February 2024.

The 9,000 dwt vessel, part of a 10 ship order with China’s Dayang Offshore shipyard, has a volume of 14,252 cu m and is now preparing for its maiden voyage. It measures 132.8 m long and 19.85 m wide, and has an open deck area of more than 2,000 sq m.

Earlier this week, HLPFI reported that Günther Siemens had been named managing director at Briese Chartering.
