Heavy lift shipping specialist Boskalis has widened its semi-submersible heavy transport vessel, Boka Vanguard.

Boskalis’ Boka Vanguard following its widening.

Already the largest semi-submersible heavy transport vessel in the world, Boka Vanguard now measures 275 m x 80 m after being widened by 10 m. It was recently on hand to deliver the car carrier Fremantle Highway from the Netherlands to China.

Boskalis’ Rockpiper vessel at work at the East Anglia THREE offshore wind farm.

Boskalis has also been at work at the East Anglia THREE offshore wind farm in the North Sea, with its subsea rock installation vessel Rockpiper installing more than 280,000 tonnes of rock for Seaway7. This will provide scour protection berms for each of the 95 foundation piles which will be installed at a later stage.
