Boluda Towage has launched four newbuild Damen tugs – Bolero, Rumba, Flandes and Samba – into service at the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium.
In addition to efficient, smooth and safe shipping, sustainability is also an essential part of the concession agreement with the port authority of Zeebrugge, Boluda said. As such, the newly built tugs comply with IMO Tier-III emissions requirements.
The 85-tonne bollard pull ASD tugs 2813, Bolera and Rumba, were built at Damen Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam. The tugs can be used for harbour and terminal berthing operations, escort operations, firefighting operations, coastal and offshore towing operations.
Flandes and Samba ART80-32 Advanced Rotortugs were built at Damen Albwardy Sharjah Shipyard in the UAE and offer 80 tonnes of bollard pull.
Vicente Boluda Fos, president of Boluda, said: “Boluda Towage’s significant investment in the construction of these four new tugs is just one example of the company’s focus on offering the best service and maximum safety in the ports of Northern Europe”.
