Bertling Logistics hit a couple of operational milestones at the end of 2023, its Guyana joint venture achieving a local content certificate, and the opening of a new office in Düsseldorf.
In September 2023, Bertling Logistics and Rafeek & Moore established a joint venture company targeting the project logistics market in Guyana. The venture commenced operations on October 1 in the Port of Georgetown and has since received its local content certificate, issued by the ministry of natural resources/local content secretariat.
“This is an important step for our Guyana joint venture and demonstrates our commitment to becoming a recognised quality freight and project partner for the energy industry in Guyana, while supporting the local economy, people and communities,” said Colin MacIsaac, ceo of Bertling Logistics. Rafeek & Moore Bertling Logistics (Guyana) added that incorporating local content requirements into logistics is not only related to minimising costs but also to bolster supply chain resilience, sustainability, community development, and compliance.
Meanwhile, Bertling Logistics established a new office at the Media Hafen Area in Düsseldorf. The shared service centre will focus primarily on airfreight, thanks to its proximity to a number of gateways including Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Cologne, Amsterdam, Maastricht, and Brussels.
