Arkon Shipping has founded Arkon Allied Container (AAC) in cooperation with shipping companies Jüngerhans, Wessels, HS Schiffahrt, Nordic and Jebsen as well as the chartering specialists Ole Gabs and Wolfgang Klodwig.
Arkon Shipping says it has established AAC to group the container feeder vessels of the founding shareholders in order to form a large fleet that can be jointly marketed. This, according to Arkon, will optimise the cost structure of chartering of the fleet.
In addition to Gabs and Klodwig, Torsten Westphal has been named one of the managing directors of AAC, which will have a registered office in Haren/Ems and an operational office in Hamburg.
The carrier is aiming to attract additional shareholders that are able to bring in further vessels that reasonably supplement the fleet.
