November 7 - Arklow Shipping's latest newbuild multipurpose vessel, Arklow Cape, has been launched at Ferus Smit's Westerbroek yard in the Netherlands.
Arklow Cape is the second in a series of ten ships that Ferus Smit is delivering to the Irish shipping company.
The vessel has a total hold volume of 220,000 cu ft (6,229 cu m) and a deadweight of just over 5,000 tonnes.
With a single hold measuring 59.8 m x 12.6 m x 8.5 m and 1A ice class notation, Arklow Cape's tank top has been strengthened for the carriage of heavy cargoes.
The first vessel in the series - Arklow Cadet - was launched by the Ferus Smit yard in June of this year.
Arklow Cape is launched by Ferus Smit.
