Belgium-based Aertssen Logistics will open a facility in Rincon, Georgia just 12 miles (19.3 km) from the port of Savannah.
With this new facility Aertssen Logistics will serve US-based agriculture, mining and construction machinery OEMs and their clients. The location was selected thanks to its footprint with space for further expansion, a strong local workforce, highways, and quick access to the port of Savannah.
“We see significant opportunities for growth, fuelled by a strong US economy with substantial investments in infrastructure, which are driving an increased demand for our customers’ machinery.” said Guus Verhaagen, business development manager USA of Aertssen Logistics.
With plans to expand within the US market, Aertssen Logistics has formed a subsidiary specifically dedicated to the country – Aertssen Logistics USA – which aims to double the current number of machines it processes annually by 2030.
The Belgian company intends on opening locations in Baltimore, Tacoma, and Houston, adding to the 35-acre (14.2 ha) facility in Rincon.
Over the years, Aertssen Logistics has experienced impressive growth and now operates three fully-fledged equipment processing centres serving the European market. These are located around the port of Antwerp-Bruges, including Zeebrugge. A fourth centre, also based in Belgium, is currently in the design phase. These are complemented by an Asian partner network in the equipment and machinery production markets of China, Japan, and South Korea.
