BOCS Bremen Overseas Chartering and Shipping (BOCS) and Universal Africa Lines (UAL) are now represented by the newly established African Agency Alliance BV (AAA) in the port of Antwerp, Belgium.
Effective December 1, AAA will act as liner agency for both shipping lines. “The formation of this new dedicated Africa liner agency will further enhance the quality of customer service for our clients, and we feel that there is a serious benefit from all the years of combined Africa experience it offers. UAL is proud to be commercially represented by AAA in our European main port of Antwerp,” said Harald Maas, managing director of UAL.
The first BOCS vessel handled by AAA at Antwerp port will be the BOCS Spirit voyage 22521. For UAL it will be the UAL Osprey, which arrives December 8.
In May 20202, the two carrier established the UAL BOCS Shipping Line (UBSL) joint venture.
The joint venture trades between the Mediterranean and Black seas to and from West Africa. Based in Capelle ad Ijssel, the Netherlands, UBSL will continue the existing UAL Mediterranean service, which will be supplemented by additional expertise and tonnage from BOCS.
Together, the lines operate roughly 20 geared multipurpose vessels (8,000-33,000 dwt), equipped with cranes capable of lifting up to 360 tonnes.
