July 1 - OOG and heavylift road haulier Trans-United, Inc of Burns Harbor, Indiana has been named the Overall Grand Safety Winner in the Indiana Motor Truck Association (IMTA) 2009 Fleet Safety Contest.
Trans-United entered and won the Over The Road, 0 to 1,000,000 miles category and Local Division, 0 - 1,000,000 miles category.
Established in 1964, Trans-United, Inc. is a specialised carrier and serves the '48 States' and international moves. Typical loads are wind turbine blades, transformers and military equipment. The company is also a C-TPAT partner.
The Indiana Motor Truck Association is a strong voice for trucking in Indiana. Founded in 1934, the IMTA is the Indiana affiliate of the American Trucking Association.
