January 2 - Lifing and rigging equipment supplier Ranger Lifting is set to open a new facility this month, in Melbourne, Australia.
The New South Wales-based firm says the Melbourne operation will house equipment including a 350 tonne-capacity press, testbed and mobile test truck.
The new facility will be headed up by Ian Jongen, who has joined the company as state manager, Victoria.
Ashley Thacker, general manager at Ranger, said: "We make no secret of our ambitions to become the country's biggest force within the lifting marketplace. However, we understand that to achieve that we must expand steadily and astutely, only when personnel and market conditions allow us to implement growth plans."
