May 28 - Messina Line has upgraded its ro-ro service from the West Mediterranean to West Africa, via a vessel sharing agreement with Marguisa.
Deploying four ro-ro sisterships - Maestro Ocean, Maestro Sea, Maestro Universe and Maestro Sun - the service sails every 12 days from Genoa, Marseilles and Valencia to Dakar, Abidjan and Lagos.
Lagos can also be served from Sete and Leghorn, with sailings every 24 days.
Messina is focusing its ro-ro service on industrial vehicles and project cargo, as well as offering high frequency connections in Genoa to cargo originating from the Middle East, Red Sea, southeast Africa, East Mediterranean and North Africa.
The first sailings from Genoa will be Maestro Ocean on May 30, Maestro Sun on June 10 and Maestro Sea on June 23.
