January 29 - Kenya headquartered project freight forwarder, Kenfreight, is currently delivering heavy and out-of-gauge power transmission equipment in Nairobi.

The consignment includes 200 feu containers, in addition to six 165-tonne transformers. The transformers are being delivered to their respective project sites on 16-lines of modular trailers, and are being positioned using a skidding and jacking system.

The transmission equipment will form part of the 100 km long 400kV double circuit line and associated substations at Ngong, Suswa, Isinya, Koma Rock and the Athi River. The equipment will increase transfer capacity to meet Nairobi's rising demand for power, and enhance power security by providing alternative electricity paths.
