Intermarine has appointed Buenos Aires-based Americana Shipping Group, led by Gabriel Califano, as its shipping agent in Argentina.
As part of Intermarine's Americas division, Califano and Americana Shipping will provide pricing, customer and documentation services to regional clients.
With 15 employees and led by Califano, the office is also positioned to service clients in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia.
"We are pleased to announce our agreement with Gabriel and Americana Shipping Group, he has a strong team and reputation; and what we believe is the winning combination to help us increase our market share locally," said Francisca Cruz, commercial manager, East Coast South America, at Intermarine.
Cruz added that the agreement solidifies Intermarine's presence in the region.
Califano, who established Americana Shipping in 2005, brings 25 years of experience in the logistics business and, according to Intermarine, his local relationships will provide an advantage for the USA-based project, breakbulk and heavy lift carrier.
