November 30 - The sixth vessel in Höegh Autoliner's New Horizon class of pure car truck carriers (PCTC) was named Höegh Trotter.
Frøydis Vandvik Løvdal, spouse of Steinar Løvdal, chief operating officer - deep sea at Höegh Autoliners, named the ship during a traditional ceremony at Xiamen Shipbuilding Industries in China.
Höegh Trotter is the sixth and final New Horizon class ship to be delivered to Höegh Autoliners. It has a deck space of 71,400 sq m and a carrying capacity of 8,500 ceu. Cargoes up to 6.5 m heigh and 12 m wide can be handled; a heavy-duty stern ramp allows for cargoes weighing up to 375 tonnes to be loaded safely.
Höegh Trotter will begin its maiden voyage from Asia to Europe in mid-December. The ship will then call in Africa and Oceania before returning to East Asia.
