February 9 - The FPSO Cidade de Santos MV20 has been successfully towed from Dalian to Rio de Janeiro by Fairmount Marine's anchor handling tugs, Fairmount Expedition and Fairmount Alpine.
The tow proceeded via Singapore for bunkers and a crew change before proceeding across the Indian Ocean, avoiding pirate-infested waters. After a short stop at Durban Roads, a bunker stop at Cape Town, the tow proceeded directly to Rio de Janeiro.
With an overall length of 334 m and breadth of 51 m, the FPSO was ballasted to a draft of approximately nine metres and Fairmount completed the two in only 63 days, covering 12,100 miles at an overall average speed of 8.0 knots.
