June 30 - Cargolux Airlines has added Atlanta, USA to its destinations served from Zhengzhou, China (CGO), becoming the second US-destination, after Chicago, to receive direct connections to and from Cargolux's Chinese hub.
Effective June 30, Cargolux introduces its first commercial service from CGO to Atlanta, originating and ending in Luxembourg.
The first direct service from Zhengzhou to Atlanta will be inaugurated on July 4.
According to Cargolux, the demand from Asia to the Americas is boosted by growing markets in Brazil and Mexico that are mainly served via North America, in addition to a growth in e-commerce.
The service will offer additional capacity to and from China and give shippers in the USA connections to Chinese producers and consumers, says Cargolux.
