December 6 - Classification society Bureau Veritas has signed a contract to class all nine of CMA CGM's 22,000 teu containerships.
China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) shipyards Jiangnan Changxing Shipbuilding and Shanghai Jiangnan Changxing Heavy Industry (SWS), the two shipyards that will be constructing the vessels, signed the contract with Bureau Veritas, in the presence of CMA CGM, on the opening day of Marintec in Shanghai.
All nine gas-fuelled containerships, which will be delivered in 2020, will be built to BV class rules and under BV newbuilding supervision.
