May 30 - American Heavy Moving & Rigging has acquired 36 axle lines of Faymonville's new DualMAX modular semi-trailer, which can be widened under load.
Faymonville sales manager for North America, Paul Hönen, explained: "All axles under load can be easily and securely widened from 14 ft (4.27 m) to 20 ft (6.1 m)."
He added: "In this way the loading platform can be adapted to the size of the load or its distribution on the ground. In contrast to other suppliers, the steering system doesn't need to be disassembled for the widening process, everything stays in place."
According to the trailer manufacturer, the DualMAX model meets the statutory provisions that apply in the USA and Canada.
Owner of American Heavy Moving & Rigging, Earl Sutton, noted that the new trailer has a very strong chassis with high point load capacities on the central beam and outer frames.
The DualMAX has a payload of 10,000 lbs per axle line (4.5 tonnes per axle line), which Faymonville says allows a load per axle line of 52,900 lbs (23.9 tonnes) at 50 mph (80 km/h).
