Walter Tosto has fabricated two 2,000-ton (1,814.4-tonne) reactors. The units were loaded out at the port of Ortona, Italy.
Each reactor measured 60 m long with a diameter of 6 m. Walter Tosto said these are the largest reactors for refineries that it has ever built, and the fabrication of these units defined a new technological limit for the pressure equipment sector.
The reactors were loaded aboard a Jumbo vessel at the port of Ortona. Luca Tosto, ceo, said: “We thank all those who worked with high commitment to this project for reaching this very important milestone.”
