The Netherlands-based crane rental and transport specialist Van Grinsven has moved a 38-tonne steel structure to Schaijk using its three-axle MegaMAX lowbed trailer from Faymonville.
Van Grinsven loaded the unit in Zagreb, Croatia, before making the 1,250-km journey via Slovenia, Austria and Germany to the Netherlands.
The three-axle MegaMAX trailer has a loading length of 12.5 m. In combination with elongation beams, the loading platform can carry goods up to 21.4 m in length. “Numerous lashing points on the sturdy loading platform keep the load in position,” explained company director Marco van Grinsven.
He added: “The new extra-low vessel deck with removable loading floor gives us many options. The radio remote control makes a big difference. It is no longer necessary to step out of the cab in order to operate the gooseneck, suspension and steering if need be. All that takes place at a distance – and that increases safety.”
The company will soon take delivery of another MegaMAX series three-axle lowbed. This trailer will have a basic width of 2.54 m.
