Upcargo Logistics has completed the discharge and transportation of a tugboat bridge cabin in Panama.
Work began at the port of Cristóbal, Panama, with Upcargo’s team inspecting the area to ensure that the space was suitable and that the port crane was equipped with the necessary capacity for the movement of cargo. A safety plan was then put in place to protect both workers and cargo.
Upcargo, Panama’s representative in the Project Logistics Alliance, then discharged the tugboat bridge cabin from a 40 ft flatrack and loaded it onto a low-bed trailer. Emphasis was placed on security to minimise vibrations during transport and decrease the risk of damage.
The bridge kiosk measured 6.4 m x 4.1 m x 4.4 m and weighed 15 tonnes.
With a thorough route study conducted prior to the project commencing, the cargo arrived with no issues. Upcargo then provided specialised equipment for onward overland transportation.
Earlier this year, Upcargo delivered three tanks for a water treatment plant in Panama.
