International project forwarding services provider Turk Logistics and Heavy Transport (THT) was recently selected to transport a shipment of wind farm components to Bahrain.
The consignment included tower sections, each weighing 21 tonnes and measuring 22 m in length, and blade frames, each weighing 1.8 tonnes and measuring 26 m in length.
The Electricity and Water Authority in Bahrain is developing plans to build a wind farm, and THT was responsible for the survey, permissions, escorts, port operations, and transportation of the components, as part of the first trial project to be imported.
Turk Logistics and Heavy Transport is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Bahrain.
