Total Movements has executed a challenging multimodal transport project for a major Asian fuel project.
The shipment totalled approximately 700 freight tons and included cargoes measuring more than 7 m tall. The components were moved the supplier’s plant to the load port on the west coast of India.
“Shifting of these oversized pieces within the plant, road transportation from the supplier’s plant to the nearest jetty, barging to the nearest major seaport, and feeding alongside the vessel were all parts of our project scope,” said Total Movements.
“The cargo’s centre of gravity was higher than usual, which posed a significant challenge. Furthermore, the nominated loading jetty was a tidal jetty, which necessitated special pilotage and mooring arrangements. Our engineering and operational team made site visits, had detailed discussions with multiple stakeholders, technical simulations, and executed this movement in a flawless manner,” added the company.
