Total Movements has moved wind turbine generator components destined for a project in Europe from the supplier’s factory to the load port on India’s east coast.
Total Movements was tasked with handling five wind turbines, comprising 15 turbine blades measuring 44 m long and five 50-tonne generators, as well as accessories.
“We were able to accomplish this because we had exclusive access to a specialised fleet of vehicles at our disposal,” said Total Movements. The company added that it had to move the cargoes through the heart of the city to reach the port amid numerous construction activities for the city’s metro project.
The Total Movements team organised a joint meeting with a variety of stakeholders, the police and port authorities to ensure that all the necessary precautions were taken during the movement to ensure that no construction activities or infrastructure changes were disrupted.
Total Movements is a member of The Heavy Lift Group (THLG) and the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC).
