Trans Global Projects (TGP) has coordinated the transport of six sets of wind turbines from China to Vietnam on two chartered vessels.
With the current situation in the Red Sea limiting the number of larger multipurpose vessels open in the Far East, TGP chartered an open deck carrier the Yu Zhou Shi Jia to transport the blades. It was the vessel’s maiden voyage and it transported the components from the port of Lianyungang to Vinh Hung port.
Swire Projects’ a F-240 type vessel Pacific Excellence was booked to transport the corresponding nacelles, hubs, generators and tower sections to Vietnam following a two-port loading in Lianyungang and Tianjin.
With the blade lengths at 76 m and the heaviest items – the generators – at 87 tonnes, the combined volume of the shipment over both vessels was 35,588 cu m.
In total, TGP China is coordinating the delivery of 24 sets of wind turbines to Vietnam.
